We are a friendly welcoming group mainly run by volunteers.
Mark – Treasurer and Committee Member
I have been swimming with the group for over 20 years now and a committee member for most of that time. I started coming to the group after suffering a very serious car accident which caused a severe head injury and left me with significant mobility problems, needing crutches or a wheelchair to get around. The opportunity to be able to go swimming every Saturday in a safe and warm environment has been invaluable in helping me maintain some level of fitness and mobility. For the last few years now, I have also been the groups treasurer as well as a committee member which has enabled me to give back a little more to this terrific charity/group.
Sam – Chair of Trustees and Committee Member
I became Chairperson of the SDSG after starting as a desk volunteer. Outside the Dolphins, I work as a 1:1 classroom assistant and a personal assistant. I have twin daughters with my fiancée and love to play Wheelchair Basketball. I enjoy my time volunteering at the Dolphins and hope to continue for years to come.
Frank – Trustee, Committee Member and Session Manager Volunteer
I have been a volunteer and committee member of the SDSG for over 10 years. I initially came to SDSG with my son for swimming but stayed on with a friendly bunch of volunteers to help run the group which is very rewarding.
Emily – group Administrator and Fundraiser
I have recently taken over the role of Group Administrator and Fundraiser as a part-time role, I have worked in the not-for-profit sector for 3 years and feel passionate about organisations that give back. Seeing the pool full of swimmers on a Saturday morning really is the highlight of the job!
